There is provided an excellent method for preventing arthropod pests to protect a seed or a plant body growing from a seed against an arthropod pest.[Solution to Problem] A method for protecting a seed or a plant body growing from a seed against an arthropod pest, comprising the steps of: a) forming a furrow on soil; b) comprising placing a seed retaining thiacloprid at least on a surface thereof in the furrow formed in the above step, and applying a pesticide composition comprising one or more synthetic pyrethroid compounds selected from group I to the furrow formed in the above step; and c) closing the furrow, wherein the group I consists of esfenvalerate, beta-cypermethrin, theta-cypermethrin, deltamethrin, fenpropathrin, tau-fluvalinate, beta-cyfluthrin, acrinathrin, alpha-cypermethrin, bifenthrin, cycroprothrin, and ethofenprox. |
