PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner capable of surely detecting excessive accumulation of dust in a second separation part and reporting it to a user.SOLUTION: A vacuum cleaner 11 includes a second separation part positioned in an air path, for centrifugally separating dust from dust-containing air sucked into the air path by the drive of an electric fan 31 and collecting it. The vacuum cleaner 11 includes an optical sensor 84 positioned between the second separation part of the air path and the electric fan 31, for detecting the dust passing through. The vacuum cleaner 11 has a reporting means 93. The vacuum cleaner 11 has a control means 34. The control means 34 defines prescribed detection time as one set, and counts a dust detection count when a total sum value obtained by totaling the number of times of detection of passing of the dust by the optical sensor 84 within the one set for the plurality of latest prescribed sets, becomes a first setting threshold or larger. The control means 34 controls the reporting means 93 so as to perform reporting when the number of times of counting the dust detection count reaches the prescribed number of times. |
