PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content distribution system including a server device for disclosing a content and an intermediate device for transferring the content, configured to distribute the content divided into one or more segments, and to allow the intermediate device having transferred the segments to hold the segments for later distribution, while notifying the server device about the number of contents requested.SOLUTION: A server device includes distribution means which distributes a segment of a content together with flag information, on receipt of a distribution request message indicating the segment of the content. The distribution means distributes at least one segment of the content, with flag information of a predetermined value set thereto. The predetermined value set to the flag information of the segment indicates that the intermediate device holding the segment transfers the distribution request message indicating the segment to the server device, without distributing the held segment, when the intermediate device receives the distribution request message indicating the segment. |
