A LED lighting unit (10, fig 1) is formed from a housing (12, fig 1) with an extruded casing member 14 having an outer wall (18, fig 5) defining an internal cavity (20, fig 5) and end closure members (16, fig 1). The casing member 14 has at least one internal transverse member (24, fig 5) to divide the internal cavity (20, fig 5) into two internal cavity portions (20a,20b fig 5). A LED light source 36 is located in one of the cavity portions and a power source 32 is located in another internal cavity portion. The casing member 14 has one or more apertures 38 in the outer wall (18, fig 5) to permit light emitted by the LED to pass through. |
