The present invention discloses an audio/video communication method, a terminal, a server and a platform. The method comprises the following steps that: the server receives an audio/video communication request sent to a second terminal by a first terminal through a browser; indication messages of obtaining IP address information and equipment audio/video characteristic information are sent to the first terminal and the second terminal; the server receives the IP address information and equipment audio/video characteristic information are sent by the first terminal and the second terminal; the server receives the connection establishment request sent by the first terminal through a browser and forwards the connection establishment request to the second terminal; the second server receives the connection establishment response sent by the second terminal through the browser and forwards the connection establishment response to the first terminal such that the first terminal and the second terminal are in audio/video connection through the browser. When the user is used, the download of additional software is not needed, and the audio/video communication is realized directly through the browser. The structure of the server is simple, special hardware equipment is not needed, the cost is low, and the server is easy to use and maintain. |
