A label printer which switches between using labels without a backing sheet and labels with a backing sheet is provided with: a printing section that performs printing on the labels without a backing sheet or the labels with a backing sheet; a cutter unit that is arranged downstream of the printing section in a feed-out direction of the labels without a backing sheet or the labels with a backing sheet, and cuts off a printed label without a backing sheet using a pair of cutter blades; and a temporary fixing section that is arranged downstream of the cutter unit in the feed-out direction and holds the cut-off label without a backing sheet, wherein, when labels with a backing sheet are used instead of labels without a backing sheet, a label that has been separated from the backing sheet of the labels with a backing sheet is held by the temporary fixing section. |
