A vehicle identification device (10) that identifies vehicles having at least two types of vehicle identification numbers on an outer surface thereof. The vehicle identification device (10) comprises an image acquisition unit (11), first and second vehicle number reading units (13, 14), and a vehicle identification unit (16). The image acquisition unit (11) obtains images captured by a camera (20). The first and second vehicle number reading units (13, 14) read numbers, included in the images, from a number plate (41) and from a display number plate (42). The vehicle identification unit (16) identifies vehicles on the basis of the numbers read by the first and second vehicle number reading units (13, 14). |
