RAILWAY FREIGHT CAR TRUCK WITH TRANSOM A stabilized railway car truck (1) consists of two side frames (2, 27) and a bolster (3). The bolster (3) has laterally opposite ends (22, 23), each end (22, 23) extending into and supported within a side frame opening (24) on a spring group (15). The stabilized railway car truck (1) also includes a transom (4) extending into, and supported within, a side frame opening (24). The spring group (15) is supported at each transom end (25). Each side frame (2, 27) includes an integrally cast transom bearing over which a transom support bearing (10, 1OA) is fitted. The pivotal decoupling of the side frame (2, 17) and transom (4) eliminates track displacement irregularities from reacting at the bolster (3) and into the vehicle. |
