An embodiment of the present invention relates to the technical field of augmented reality, and discloses a virtual reality display method, comprising: capturing a real image; searching for, from the real image, a target image having the same shape and color as a sample image, and extracting spatial coordinates of the target image; and blocking out or highlighting the target image according to the spatial coordinates. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the virtual reality display method and system take a subtractive approach, and achieve, on the basis of a real scene and in a blocking-out or highlighting display manner, effects in which certain interference information of the real scene is blocked out or attenuated while a real subject of interest is highlighted.
