1. A coordinate measuring apparatus for identifying a position of a contact object, the coordinate measuring apparatus comprising:
at least one electrode configured to transmit a transmission signal generated by providing a current to the at least one electrode and receive a reception signal transmitted from the contact object, wherein the transmission signal is provided to the contact object and the reception signal is generated based on the transmission signal; and a controller configured to identify the position of the contact object based on at least one of the reception signal received through the at least one electrode and a capacitance change in the at least one electrode, wherein the capacitance change is generated based on a contact of the contact object to the coordinate measuring apparatus, wherein the controller is further configured to determine a type of the contact object based on the reception signal.
