METHOD FOR VERIFYING CONFORMITY WITH A PREDETERMINED CRITERION OF USE OF A SPECTACLE FRAME AND ASSOCIATED DEVICE

The invention relates to a method for verifying conformity with a predetermined criterion of use of a spectacle frame intended to receive two ophthalmic lenses, wherein the following steps are carried out: a) at least one geometric and/or mechanical and/or structural characteristic of this spectacle frame is determined and the spectacle-frame category to which said spectacle frame belongs is deduced therefrom from a set of predetermined spectacle-frame categories; b) an outline of at least one of said ophthalmic lenses intended to be mounted in said spectacle frame or of a rim of this spectacle frame is determined in two or three dimensions; c) the value of each parameter of a list of parameters of said spectacle frame is evaluated, this list being determined depending on said spectacle-frame category determined in step a); and the value of at least some of said parameters being evaluated depending on said outline determined in step b), d), from the values of said parameters of the spectacle frame i.e. the values determined in step c), the conformity of the spectacle frame to the predetermined criterion is deduced.
