What is disclosed is an adaptor for use with the blade assembly of a food processor. The adaptor is used to secure an open ended container having side wall with an outer surface and also having a flange at the open end of the container and having food in the container to a base unit which drives the blades to mix the content of the open ended container. The adaptor comprises a body having an inner surface shaped to abut the or portions of the outer surface of the open ended container at least adjacent the open end of the container; and there is a surface of the3 body shaped to abut the flange or a portion of the flange of the container; and there is an engagement arrangement adapted to engage the body of the adaptor with the blade assembly. Where as a result of the engagement of the adaptor to the base unit, the surface of the adaptor shaped to abut the flange or a portion of the flange of the container, places that flange of the container into sealing abutment with the blade assembly so as to prevent the egress of food or processed food from the container during the working of the blade or blades on the content of the container. This allows the now mixed content of the container and the container to be take away from the base unit and used a required and for containers to be sold separately containing food stuff for later mixing. |
