441,470. Golf-bag supports. JONES, G. M. G., c/o Turner & Co., Ltd., J., Portman Road, Ipswich. May 16, 1934, No. 14771. [Class 132 (ii)] Supporting legs or strut 4 for a golf bag are pivotally mounted on a lug or plate 6 integral or rigid with the mouth ring of the bag and preferably grooved to receive a steel stiffener 7 secured by rivets or nuts and bolts 5. A dished metal plate 3 and a flat metal plate 2 form a pivot in which the legs 4 are frictionally retained in the position to which they are moved, the radius of the dished portion of the plate 3 being slightly less than that of the legs 4. In a modification the plates 2 and 3 are formed of one piece of metal folded over the strut and held together by one rivet. The plate 3 is formed with two wings 1 constituting abutments for limiting movement of the legs 4. In a modification a bolt is let into the legs 4 at their centre and the plate 3 is grooved or slotted at its centre so that the bolt and legs 4 can rotate only within the limits of the groove.
|
