PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED driving device and an LED driving method capable of driving an LED lighting device with a continuous current by using a dimming output power supply to perform smooth dimming and lighting.SOLUTION: An LED driving device has: an LED driving power supply outputting a current for driving an LED in response to a dimming control signal; and a control circuit, in a case that the current outputted from the LED driving power supply is equal to or less than a minimum driving current which allows the LED to emit light, performing constant voltage control of the LED driving power supply to a set voltage value lower than a voltage value corresponding to the minimum driving current, and in a case that the current outputted from the LED driving power supply is greater than the minimum driving current, performing constant current control of the LED driving power supply. |
