PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect whether a cartridge is a refilled product without increasing the memory capacity of a device body even when the device body is different.SOLUTION: An ink jet recording device includes a head for performing an image forming operation in a casing, a tank which includes a cartridge memory and to which a cartridge for housing ink is fixed, and a control unit. The control unit executes writing processing for writing a plurality of data changed in value by a head operation using ink of the cartridge fixed to the tank and can be correlated by a predetermined relational expression in the cartridge memory of the cartridge fixed to the tank, and determination processing for reading the plurality of data from the cartridge memory of the cartridge fixed to the tank and determining whether the data are in a relationship to satisfy the predetermined relational expression. |
