1. A reinforced thermoplastic resin composition consisting of:
a) a thermoplastic resin; b) from about 1 to about 60 weight percent cellulose fibers based on the weight of the composition, the cellulose fibers having a porous surface obtained by the mechanical shearing and subsequent chemical separation of the cellulose fiber fraction from hemi-cellulose and lignin fractions of a natural plant material, wherein the cellulose fibers and the thermoplastic resin are molecularly bonded to one another by the resin flowing into and diffusing or dissolving the cellulose fibers in the resin. |
