Provided are an image processing device, a display control method and a program that can prevent a lesion from being overlooked while reducing the labor burden when performing an examination. A processor 5 is provided with the following: an image generation unit 513 that generates a wide band image corresponding to a wide band filter and a narrow band image corresponding to a narrow band filter, on the basis of image data generated by an image pickup element 202a; a calculation unit 514 that calculates a characteristic amount which is included in the narrow band image generated by the image generation unit 513; a determination unit 515 that determines whether the characteristic amount calculated by the calculation unit 514 exceeds a threshold value; and a display control unit 516 that, on the basis of the determination results of the determination unit 515, emphasizes either the wide band image or the narrow band image and causes the same to be displayed on a display device 4. |
