This water vapor observation device (1) comprises: a wave transmission unit (2) that sends first transmission waves and second transmission waves that have different frequencies from each other; a wave reception unit (2) that receives, as reception waves, reflected waves being transmission waves that have passed through water vapor and have been reflected and returned from a ground surface section or a water surface; and a calculation unit (10) that calculates the amount of water vapor in an area through which the transmission waves have passed, on the basis of first reception information generated from the first reception waves obtained from the first transmission waves and on the basis of second reception information generated from second reception waves obtained from the second transmission waves. As a result of the present invention, the amount of water vapor at a desired position in the atmosphere can be reliably calculated. |
