A sheep counting apparatus, comprising a counting platform (14) for the sheep to step across, the two ends of the counting platform (14) being provided with a downwardly inclined slope, and the two sides being provided with opposite fences (11), a space for the passage of a single sheep being disposed in the two fences (11); one of the fences (11) is provided with a light source lamp (12) used for emitting a detection light, and the other fence (11) is provided with a photosensitive structure (13) used for recording the number of times the detection light is light and dark. When a sheep crosses the counting platform (14), the light source lamp (12) is blocked, so that the photosensitive structure (13) cannot receive the detection light; after the sheep has passed over, the light source lamp (12) is exposed, so that the photosensitive structure (13) receives the detection light, and records one light and dark time. As the counting platform (14) is higher than road level, only one sheep at a time can be on the counting platform (14); errors are few and operation is easy. |
