The present invention relates to a device (1) for increasing the pressure of a fluid, in particular in the form of a pressurized-gas bottle valve (1), and to a method for increasing the pressure of a fluid. The device (1) comprises a hydraulic fluid chamber (8) in which a displacement piston (9) is arranged. By displacement of a hydraulic fluid by way of the displacement piston (9), a double diaphragm (6, 7) in a compression chamber (3) is actuated, whereby a fluid for compression is delivered from a suction duct (4) to a pressure duct (5) and is compressed. The displacement piston (9) is driven by an eccentric (10) via a drive shaft (11). The device (1) also has a pressure-limiting valve (18) which is arranged in the region of the hydraulic fluid chamber (8). Furthermore, a safety valve (19) which is regulable by way of a valve cam (20) is provided. The drive shaft has coupling means (27), for example for coupling to a drilling machine. The device is preferably used for the evacuation of pressurized-gas bottles in the domestic sector.
