Disclosed are an image preview method, apparatus and terminal, which relate to the field of digital imaging, and are used to provide a scheme where a background blurring effect of a current scene can be previewed in real time.In the embodiments of the present invention, in a dual-camera shooting preview mode, a terminal uses two camera modules to synchronously acquire a preview picture of a current scene from different angles; in the preview picture, according to a phase difference generated by the distance and angle between the dual-camera modules, a depth of field of each pixel unit contained in one preview picture is calculated; a depth (Depth) of field of a foreground of a pre-set target area in the preview picture is acquired, and in the same preview picture, an area composed of all pixel units in a depth of field beyond a range of [Depth - d, Depth + d] is determined to be a background area; blurring processing is performed on the background area using a pre-set fuzzy coefficient; and an image containing the target area and the background area subjected to blurring processing is output as a real-time preview picture of the current scene.
