PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid contact between an elevator cage and an apparatus in a hoistway and to detect abnormality such as deformation, movement and falling-off of the apparatus installed in the hoistway by calculating the displacement from the state where the apparatus in the hoistway is installed.SOLUTION: An elevator device includes: distance measuring means connected and fixed to at least one of an upper part and a lower part of an elevator cage, and measuring a distance between itself and the apparatus installed in the hoistway or a hoistway wall; a storage unit for storing a first measurement value measured by the distance measurement means together with a predetermined position of the elevator cage respectively at a plurality of predetermined elevator cage positions which are set in advance; and a control unit for making the elevator cage move to a predetermined cage position after the occurrence of an earthquake or at maintenance time, and calculating the difference between a second measurement value and the first measurement value measured by the distance measuring means. When the difference between the second measurement value and the first measurement value is equal to or greater than a reference value, the control unit determines abnormality and stops the elevator cage. |
