Provided is a medical instrument for gripping a wire having a cross-sectional shape having a curved surface, the medical instrument comprising: a sheath having a center axis; and a holding section having a first holding section provided within the lumen of the sheath so as to be capable of moving forward and backward, the first holding section having a first protrusion protruding radially toward the inside of the sheath, the holding section further having a second holding section which has a second protrusion protruding radially toward the inside of the sheath, wherein the first holding section and the second holding section are arranged at a distance from each other so that the first protrusion and the second protrusion face each other, and wherein the wire is positioned between the first protrusion and the second protrusion so as to be in point contact with the first protrusion and the second protrusion. |
