PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device, a tonner container abnormality detection method, and a program that are able to easily determine whether there is abnormality in a tonner container capable of communicating via a common signal line by being attached at an attachment position.SOLUTION: A toner container abnormality detection method includes: a detection step of detecting states of a plurality of toner containers 3 capable of being attached to and detached from a container attachment part 73; a storage step of storing detected state information on each of the toner containers 3 in an EEPROM2D; an acquisition step of acquiring various information by communicating with each of the plurality of toner containers 3 via a common signal line connected by attachment; a determination step of determining whether communication with any of the plurality of toner containers 3 has become impossible; and an identification step of identifying a toner container 3 having abnormality on the basis of the state information stored in the EEPROM2D in the case of communication failure. |
