1. An image recording apparatus comprising:
a recording head configured to record an image on a recording medium; a sensor configured to detect a state of an object including a surface of the recording medium or a surface of a support member that supports the recording medium; an acquisition unit configured to acquire information corresponding to a temperature change of the support member; a drive unit configured to move the sensor in a first direction that is perpendicular to the surface of the recording medium or the surface of the support member; and a control unit configured to calculate a change amount of a relative positional relationship between the sensor and the object in the first direction by using a predetermined relation between the change amount of the relative positional relationship and the temperature change of the support member based on the information acquired by the acquisition unit, and configured to control the drive unit to move the sensor in the first direction by the change amount of the relative positional relationship.
