This ultrasonic treatment system includes: an end effector that cuts a bone or a cartilage as an object to be treated using ultrasonic vibrations transmitted from a vibration generation unit; and an energy output unit that outputs a drive current which is supplied to the vibration generation unit. A determination unit determines whether the end effector is latched onto the object to be treated, and when the determination unit determines that the end effector is latched onto the object to be treated, the determination unit generates a signal indicating that the end effector is latched onto the object to be treated.
