The invention relates to a current limiter device for limiting a short-circuit current in a higher-level electricity grid. The current limiter device has a current-limiting coil device and a load switch, which is electrically connected in series to the coil device, wherein the switch is designed as a load switch. The invention further relates to a method for limiting a short-circuit current in an electricity grid having such a current limiter device, wherein a short-circuit current flowing through the coil device is limited to a specified limiting current, by means of the coil device, and the limiting current flowing through the load switch is interrupted by an opening of the load switch. |
