A so-called heat pump air-conditioning apparatus, whereby the wasteful power consumption occurring in cases where an auxiliary heating means is provided on the air upstream side of a radiator is reduced, and comfortable vehicle interior heating is also achieved. This air-conditioning apparatus is equipped with an electric heater 57 which is provided on the upstream side of the air flowing through an air circulation path 3 with respect to a radiator 4. A controller performs cooperative operation in which the air supplied to the vehicle interior is heated by the electric heater 57 and the radiator 4. The controller stops a compressor 2 on the condition (Tcxin < TCI) that the inlet refrigerant temperature Tcxin of the radiator is lower than the outlet refrigerant temperature TCI of the radiator.
