The invention relates to an electric linear drive (1) for a gear rack (3), comprising a stepping motor (4), a holding plate (8), a motor output gear (7), and a gearbox (9), wherein the holding plate (8), the stepping motor (4) having a motor output gear (7), and the gearbox (9) form a drive unit (14) which, together with a basic housing (15), form an overall housing (16), and wherein the overall housing (16) has an opening (17) for the insertion of the gear rack (3).
