PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use a sheet remaining in an apparatus when an abnormal image is detected.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a sheet conveyance unit for conveying a sheet; an image forming unit for forming an image on the sheet; an image detection unit which detects an image on the sheet conveyed by the sheet conveyance unit on the downstream side of the image forming unit; and a control unit which controls the image forming unit and acquires information of the image detected by the image detection unit. The control unit determines whether the image is normal or not on the basis of information of the image, conveys another sheet being conveyed and remaining in the apparatus by the sheet conveyance unit when the image is not normal, and executes control for detecting the image on the sheet by the image detection unit, to acquire the information of the image on the sheet. When an abnormal image is detected, an image on a sheet remaining in the apparatus is detected, to enable effective use of the remaining sheet. |
