PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent under-run of another vehicle by suppressing deformation of an under-run protector even in a case that the impact load which is input to the under-run protector increases rapidly immediately after collision.SOLUTION: An under-run prevention device 10 includes an FUP (Front Under-run Protector) 11, a step 12, an airbag unit 30, and a collision detection sensor 21. The collision detection sensor 21 actuates an inflator 20 of the airbag unit 30 to deploy an airbag 19 of the airbag unit 30 backward upon sensing collision between a truck 1 and a counter vehicle 5. A reaction force against a deploying force of the airbag 19 received by the FUP 11 acts forward against a backward impact load which is input to the FUP 11 from the counter vehicle 5. Deformation of the FUP 11 is suppressed by the reaction force against the deploying force of the airbag 19. |
