[Class 12 (i)] [Also in Group XXXVI] A ball-ended shaft, particularly for use in a variable electric condenser, has its ball end K seated in a triangular recess s, its other end being held in a V-shaped groove p. Springs hold the shaft into the recesses. Two plates of a clutch between condensers may be connected by a rod having a ball at each end, each sitting in a triangular seat in the clutch plates. In an adjustable condenser the movable plate 5 is adjusted by a round headed screw K, Fig. 14, which seats in a triangular hole in the strip S.
