PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine combustion apparatus ensuring a high wear reduction function for a piston skirt section and lower fuel consumption.SOLUTION: Provided is an engine combustion apparatus in which a piston is inserted into a cylinder bore surrounded by a cylinder wall 1, resin films 4 and oil grooves 5 are formed on or in a surface of a piston skirt section 3, and each oil groove 5 is formed between the adjacent resin films 4. In an explosion stroke of the engine combustion apparatus, the oil grooves 5 are opened toward a bottom dead center clearance 7d between the piston skirt section 3 and the cylinder wall 1 by a bottom dead center opening 7b on bottom dead center-side ends of the oil grooves 5 on a thrust side 7 on which a lateral pressure 6 from the piston 2 to the cylinder wall 1 is generated, and the oil grooves 5 on this thrust side 7 are closed from a top dead center clearance 7c between the piston skirt section 3 and the cylinder wall 1 by a top dead center closure 7a on top dead center-side ends of the oil grooves 5. |
