A drive unit includes a transmission case having a transmission housing part which houses a transmission and a differential housing part which houses a differential device, and an electric motor is attached to the outer periphery of the transmission case in such a way that it is at a location in front of the differential housing part. Moreover, with respect to a transverse direction of the vehicle at the differential housing part, a sidewall of the transmission case on the side opposite from the one where an engine is located has an opening through which an output shaft of a speed reducer extends and the speed reducer case is attached to the sidewall of the transmission case. |
