A transition metal carbene complex having the following general formula (1); wherein in general formula (1), M is a molybdenum atom or a tungsten atom; R1 is a C1-C20 alkyl group optionally having a substituent or a C6-C20 aryl group optionally having a substituent; L1, L2, and L3 each are a ligand selected from a halogen group, an alkoxy group optionally having a substituent, and an aryloxy group optionally having a substituent, wherein L1, L2, and L3 are the same as or different from one another, or at least two of L1, L2, and L3 bind together to form a ring structure with M; R2 and R3 each are a hydrogen atom, a C1-C20 alkyl group optionally having a substituent, or a C6-C20 aryl group optionally having a substituent, wherein R2 and R3 are the same as or different from each other; A is a nitrogen atom or a phosphorus atom; and R4, R5, R6, and R7 each are a C1-C20 alkyl group optionally having a substituent or a C6-C20 aryl group optionally having a substituent, wherein R4, R5, R6, and R7 are the same as or different from one another, or at least two of R4, R5, R6, and R7 bind together to form a ring structure with A. |
