The invention relates to a weaving machine with a shed forming device (10, 25) for forming sheds (3) between warp threads (1) drawn from a thread supply (9); a weft inserting device (20) for inserting weft threads (2) in the form of tapes into the formed sheds (3); and a drawing device (30) for drawing the fabric (4) made of warp and weft threads (1, 2) after the weft threads have been inserted. The weaving machine comprises a measuring device (40) for detecting geometric parameters, in particular the width, of a weft thread (2) prior to being inserted into the shed (3), and the weaving machine also comprises an analyzing device (45) for analyzing the detected measurement results. A controller (50) which is connected to the drawing device (30) is provided on the weaving machine in order to control the movement of the fabric (4), including the drawing process, on the basis of the analyzed measurement results. |
