An apparatus (100) for connecting tubular bodies (1', 1), in particular tubular cores for supporting coils of wound material, said apparatus comprising a tubular body feed means (1', 1) for feeding the tubular bodies aligned at a connection position (14) of a connection station (60), a means (31, 62) for rotating the two tubular bodies (1', 1) integrally to each other about an own axis (16) at the connection position (14), an adhesive tape (61) slide supplier (64) configured to bring a tape free edge (61') at the connection position (14) such that, by operating the rotation means (31, 62), the free edge (61') is dragged into rotation and adheres on the tubular bodies (l',l) forming a connected tubular body (1). According to a first aspect of the invention, a program means is provided for sequentially performing a first return stroke (15') of the slide supplier (64) from the connection position (14), while the tape is dragged and stretched; a tape cut step (61); a second return stroke (15") of the slide supplier (64), such that the free edge (61') of the tape (61) is brought to a predetermined distance from the cut means (68). According to another aspect of the invention, in which the slide supplier comprises a roll (59) of a tape (61), said roll rotatably arranged about an axis (59'), the means for creating a predetermined tension of the tape (61) comprises a tape-retaining means (74, 65, P) for retaining the tape (61) arranged outside of the roll (59). The two aspects of the invention allow, also cooperatively, improving the precision of the tape cut, and therefore the quality of the joint, and also allow limiting the occurrence of block the tape on the cut means. |
