The apparatus has a cutting roller (1) for cutting a paper web, and an outlet-side pressing roller placed to press the web onto the cutting roller. A motorized drive is connected to drive the pressing roller that drives the cutting roller via the web. The pressing roller is shorter than the cutting roller and carrying a drive gearwheel at an end of the pressing roller, where the gearwheel is meshed with the motorized drive. The paper web is guided over half of a circumferential periphery of the cutting roller from an inlet-side non-driven pressing roller to the outlet-side pressing roller. |
