The present invention provides a medium accommodating device and medium transacting device that can orderly accumulate a medium onto an accumulating face that is inclined with respect to a horizontal face. A reject cassette has an accumulating base with an accumulating face that is inclined toward the front with respect to the horizontal plane and with an accumulating guide mounted on the front end thereof. Moreover, the reject cassette is provided with, on the front side of a case, a bill abutting section so that a gap is opened with the front end of the accumulating base, and a friction reducing material is affixed to the back face of the bill abutting section in a portion that is not near the top edge. Thus, in the reject cassette, accumulated bills are supported by the accumulating guide and held on the accumulating face, and the generation of friction against the front side of the case can be suppressed when the accumulating base is lowered together with the accumulated bills. If the number of accumulated bills increases and the topmost face exceeds the top edge of the accumulating guide, the accumulating base can be lowered smoothly by having the friction reducing material of the bill abutting section in contact with the front face thereof. |
