PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mud flap, hardly caught between an obstacle and a wheel when a vehicle moves backward and hardly causing breakage of peripheral components even when it is caught in the wheel.SOLUTION: A mud flap 10 includes: a flap body 11; right and left flange parts 12; and ribs 13. The right and left flange parts 12 are bent substantially at right angles from both end edges in the vehicle width direction of the front 22 of an upper area 20 of the flap body 11 to project forward, and the ribs 13 project forward on the front 22 of the upper area 20 of the flap body 11. The flap body 11 is made of rubber, and the board thickness D1 of a lower area 19 of the flap body 11 is smaller than the board thickness D2 of the upper area 20 of the flap body 11. When the lower area 19 of the flap body 11 is pushed forward in the backward movement of a vehicle, the lower end of the flap body 11 is caused to early run on the upper surface of the curbstone only by curving and bending of the lower area 19 of the flap body 11 so that the lower end of the flap body 11 is retreated backward from the front end of the curbstone. |
