PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extract or the like for utilizing the whole plant of Calanthe discolor effectively.SOLUTION: Disclosed is Calanthe discolor solvent extract characterized by extracting from a raw material of Calanthe discolor with a solvent. In the Calanthe discolor solvent extract, the solvents are water, water-soluble alcohols, or mixed solvents thereof, and the water-soluble alcohol is ethanol or methanol. Medicines produced using as a raw material the solvent extract using the whole plant of Calanthe discolor can be expectable as products having various in vivo antiaging actions, such as prevention of rough and dry skin and joint aging because solvent extract using the whole plant of Calanthe discolor has hyaluronidase inhibitory action and AGEs production inhibitory action. |
