The aim of the invention is to transmit data from a value or security document 100, which is equipped with a transponder circuit 200 with at least one respective RFID semiconductor chip 220. This is achieved in that the value or security document 100 is additionally equipped with a display circuit 300 which is made of a display antenna 310 and a display element 320. In order to exchange data between the value or security document 100 and a data exchanging device 500 which generates an electromagnetic high-frequency field H, the following method is carried out: (a) generating the electromagnetic high-frequency field H by means of the data exchanging device 500; (b) carrying out a data transmission process D, having the step of reading and transmitting data stored in the RFID semiconductor chip 220 to the data exchanging device 500; and (c) generating a signal by means of the electromagnetic high-frequency field H in the at least one display circuit 300 so that at least one display element 320 in the at least one display circuit 300 is activated.
