[Classes 20 (iv) and 87 (i)] A hollow filler-block for reinforced-concrete floors and like structures is formed of concrete, clay, terra-cotta or like material not adapted to receive nails, screws, or the like, and is provided on its upper surface with a central upstanding rib C which is of square shape in plan, does not extend to the edges of the block, and is formed of a material adapted to receive nails, screws, or the like. The rib C is formed on the block during the initial moulding of the latter, and may consist of a breeze, pumice, or similar aggregate. Two tubular passages B of substantially elliptical cross-section are provided in the block, and these are arranged so as to provide an additional thickness at the centre of the block where nailing occurs. The sides of the block are rounded at the upper edges, as shown at D, and are splayed, as shown at E, to key with the concrete. The concrete G, which is poured between. the rows of blocks, extends to the level of the upper surface of the rib C.
