An invention is disclosed here that relates to a device and a process for producing fresh water by multiple-effect humidification-dehumidification. This system uses seawater, brackish water, river or well water in order to cool the humidified ambient air inside a condensation chamber (5) that produces fresh water from the humidity that it contains. The ambient air is saturated with water by means of the evaporation of water by solar heating (3). A second effect (10) uses the high output temperature of the fresh water to restart the process in the following units.
