A method of making a tobacco cut filler comprises providing tobacco dust and tobacco particles having an average particle size from about 0.01 millimetres to about 1.5 millimetres and compressing the tobacco dust in a die to form a tobacco dust tablet (1) having an equivalent tablet diameter from about 1 millimetre to about 6 millimetres. The tobacco dust tablet is ejected from the die. The ejected tobacco dust tablet is blended with at least one other tobacco material to prepare a tobacco cut filler comprising at least 1 percent by weight of tobacco dust tablet. |
