The invention relates to the field of communications. Disclosed in an embodiment of the invention are a network path computation method, device and system capable of increasing utilization of a network resource. The method comprises: upon failure of an internet protocol layer path computation element (IP PCE) to compute a path in an IP layer network, triggering an optical layer PCE to compute a path in an optical layer network; upon failure of the optical layer PCE to compute the path in the optical layer network, returning, by the optical layer PCE, optical layer network conflict resource group information to the IP PCE; and re-computing, by the IP PCE, and according to the optical layer network conflict resource group information, a path from a source node to a destination node. The invention is applicable to a network path computation.
