The control method involves determining a current position of a gear wheel (11) with respect to the current position of other gear wheel (12). The current position of a gear wheel is continuously adjusted with respect to the current position of the other gear wheel according to specified predefined operating conditions. The determination of the present position of the gear wheel with respect to the present position of other gear wheel is adjusted via a reference value, which is determined before normal operation of gear pump or during interruptions of normal operation of the gear pump. |
