Mass storage arrangement (1) has a number of mass storage units (2), e.g. hard disks, and at least two bridge controllers (3) that are physically connected to the mass memory units via a data bus. A first common cache memory unit (4) is provided with which the bridge controller can be used to balance data to be stored and the statuses of the mass storage units via an additional cache synchronization system (6). An independent claim is made for an operating method for a mass storage unit. |
