PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system capable of avoiding high potential and properly processing generated water during non-loaded operation of a fuel cell.SOLUTION: The fuel cell system comprises: a fuel cell; a gas/liquid separator 34 for separating an off-gas discharged from the fuel cell because of power generation into generated water and gas; an exhaust passage connected to the gas/liquid separator 34 and used for circulating a separated gas; an atomizer 42 connected to an exhaust pipe 43 and used for atomizing the generated water; and a water channel 50 for guiding the generated water from the gas/liquid separator 34 to the atomizer 42. The fuel cell system is provided with a water storage unit 52 provided in the atomizer 42 and used for recovering generated water not discharged to the outside among the atomized generated water, an electric type heater 55 disposed in the water storage unit 52 and used for evaporating stored generated water by conduction of electricity from the fuel cell, and a controller for exerting high potential avoidance control on the fuel cell during non-loaded operation of the fuel cell and also actuating the electric type heater 55 by electricity generated by high potential avoidance control. |
