PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combined power generation system and a combined power generation system operation method capable of preventing an operating state of a gas turbine from influencing a fuel battery.SOLUTION: A combined power generation system 1 includes: a fuel battery 10; a gas turbine system 20; a steam generation unit generating steam using gas discharged from a gas turbine 22; a steam turbine system 30 including a steam turbine 31 driven by the steam supplied from the steam generation unit; and a switching unit 60. The switching unit 60 cuts off the supply of air from a gas turbine compressor 23 to the fuel battery 10 and supplies the air from a steam turbine compressor 32 to the fuel battery 10 if the gas turbine 22 performs a load fluctuation operation. The switching unit 60 cuts off the supply of the air from the steam turbine compressor 32 to the fuel battery 10 and supplies the air from the gas turbine compressor 23 to the fuel battery 10 if the gas turbine 22 performs a stable load operation.
